Hiking in the Salzburger Land
If you are looking for theme walking trails, circular trails or panorama tours in the Salzburger Land, hiking in Altenmarkt is just the right place for you. If you would rather like alpine hiking up to 2300m we recommend you Zauchensee and surroundings. You can also take your family for an excursion with the Gamsgokel cable railway and enjoy the view from above.

The Salzburger Land Card is your entry card to over 190 sightseeings and attractions. This is an all inclusive card which is available for 6 or 12 days. You can visit cultural highlights, museums and other attractions of the city of Salzburg and surroundings.
Bathing lakes
There are many bathing lakes near Altenmarkt where you can take a swim on a hot summer day to cool down. You can relax on the sunbathing lawn and try the different and delicious food offers in the restaurants and buffets. Some lakes have a playground and a flume where kids can play and have fun.
Cycling and mountain biking
Do a family tour in the nature to explore the Salzburger Land. In Altenmarkt and surroundings there are over 240km long cycling roads for hobby cycler and 7 marked trails for mountain bikers and those who like it more extreme there is a the 9km long downhill mountain bike park in Wagrain.
The high wire garten
The high wire garten is one of the main attractions in Altenmarkt and it is open for guests in July and August. There are 16 different stations to master which will require courage and skills like balance, climbing and sliding.
Riding in the Salzburger Land
One of the most popular regions for riding is Altenmarkt-Zauchensee. It offers 5 riding routes for horse lovers over a length of 100km. Horse ranches in Altenmarkt offer kids the possibility to ride a pony, to absolve riding courses or do a guided horse ride.
